Description

This album was released originally back in 2003, and the quartet (in those days) was born in 1986, so it’s expected something with a traditional insight of what Grindcore is. It’s the idea, but the band prefers to use some Death Metal influences to make things not usual for the fans of both genres. Sometimes they have a clear Grindcore appeal, on other are into a Death Metal form, and even can sound as an Old School Death/Thrash Metal act. But for those who just want to hear extreme music, go for it, because the energy and hooks of the genre are presented here in great quantities! As one can think, such mix of Grindcore with other genres needs a specific sonority: bitter and crude, but defined. And it’s what can be found, so the fans must be careful with the ears. But be calm: anyone can understand what’s being played by the quartet.

As a tradition of Grindcore, the songs as short, but aggressive and effective to what they’re up to. So be prepared for their massive assault on songs as “Adrenaline” (pay attention to the hazardous guitars riffs), “Son of Shadows” (an extremely traditional song for the genre, with nasty grunts and screams), “Wormbody” (it’s a ‘ready to roll’ song with a brutal worm on bass guitar and drums), “Where is Your Savior Now” and “Jesus Descent” (both songs are those ones to shake you heads as Hell due the Hardcore hooks), “Poison for the Soul” (this one is into a Death Metal trend), “Breaking Bounds” (some Death/Metal arrangements can be heard on this one, especially on the guitars, and it’s one of the longest song of the album), “Godmorphosis” (a nasty and brutal set of tempos can be heard on this one), “Malicious Awakening” (another Death/Thrash Metal song), “Demon’s Call” (if you pay attention to the bass guitar lines, you’ll feel the extreme Hardcore touches), and “Devil Dance” (some female vocals can be heard on this one, contrasting with the grunts), the ones for exploding ears and brains!

“Dysangelium” is a fine release and deserves to be heard by extreme Metal fans, but it’s time for BLOOD to come with a new release.
